Although the exact location and date have not been determined, Kingman most likely painted this piece during a trip to the Gila Mountains in the Yuma County, Arizona area during 1970. Exhibited as part of the Gallery 1516 "Plein Air Artists" exhibit in Omaha, Nebraska, 2019.
